Hello!
I find myself often wanting to do something like the attached image, where I have a SmartArt List, I animate it with the "One by One" option in the Effect Options, and then want some other content on the slide to change along with the List. The problem is that this get super messy in design mode - here you can see the 3 shapes are overlapping, but when it's a busy slide for each one of the List items, it quickly gets unmanageable. Is there a concept I'm missing for how to do this in a more reasonable way? I'm imaging something where the SmartArt is somehow broken across 3 slides, so each slide looks as it would with each step of the original animation when it's in presentation mode. But of course I'd want the List to be exactly the same (at the same location, with the same text, etc.) on each of the slides, even if I edit it on one of the slides (that's the whole reason for doing it on a single slide now). Any thoughts? Thanks! David |

I get where you are coming from. Seeing that animation pane with several lines is daunting. You can group animations by using bookmarks and it looks better. The only thing is that you would need to have a silent audio file or something to set the bookmarks. After you have those you can group animations to each bookmark and it looks better in the pane.
